This section includes using the design-time usage, common properties, common server side tasks performed in code-behind and working with hierarchical controls
  • Client Side API: How to get rapid response from Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX using the client-side API. This section includes how to locate controls programmatically, how to debug client-side code, find items in collections, add/edit/delete collection items on the client, iterate collections, coordinate client changes with the server, and work with client-side event handlers.
  • Data Binding: Learn how to bind Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX to popular data sources. Includes bindable types, common properties between controls, binding in code, binding in markup, data source controls, appending items to a bound collection and binding hierarchies.
  • Templates: How to use templates to customize all or part of a Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX UI. This section includes binding expressions, containers and data items, the DataBinder object, finding controls in templates (both on the server and client), dynamic templates using ITemplate and using client side templates.
  • RadGrid: This extensive section delves  into the heavily-used RadGrid control. The section includes simple data binding, advanced data binding, declarative data binding, key events used to customize the look and behavior of the grid, master and detail grids, sorting, paging, scrolling and grouping. This section also includes binding to web service and OData feeds. Finally, the section includes a task-oriented walk-through that demonstrates working with RadGrid taking the full width and height of the browser (discussion of sizing issues here), Ajax enabling RadGrid, configuring many different types of columns, column visibility, edit modes, lookups, edit and delete configuration options, calculated fields, footers, aggregates and custom aggregates.
  • Ajax explores the use of RadAjaxManager and RadAjaxPanel, where to use each, designing for performance, using the RadAjaxLoadingPanel to improve user experience (and therefore yours), render modes, and talking between the server and client using server-side response scripts and client-side methods and events. This section will also cover the appropriate use of the RadAjaxManager proxy control.
  • Skinning: This section explains options for skinning your application, best practices to keep your site appearance stable and easy to maintain, style precedence, Visual Style Builder, and the skin CSS file structure.
